Privacy policy
No account, no ads, no tracking. Here is exactly what the app does send.
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This policy explains what information the Löwe Playroom app (the “app”) and the website lowe-playroom.info (the “site”) handle, why, and what you can do about it. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Löwe Playroom, the developer of the app. Questions go to support@lowe-playroom.info.
1. The short version
- There is no account, no login and no email address needed to play.
- Your progress, statistics, saved games and settings stay on your device.
- For the leaderboards, the app sends a random player ID, the nickname and avatar you choose, and your best score per game.
- The app has no ads, no advertising ID, no third-party analytics and no tracking across apps or websites.
- We don't sell or rent any information to anyone.
2. Information stored only on your device
The app keeps one save file on your device. It contains: a random player ID created on first launch, your nickname and avatar, language, sound, vibration and button-side settings, your statistics per game (best score, rounds played, wins, streaks, fastest time), unfinished games so you can continue them, and downloaded game packs. This file is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
3. Leaderboards
When your device is online and you set a new best score in a game, the app sends the following to our server at lowe-playroom.info:
| Data | What it is | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Player ID | A random 32-character code created by the app. It is not linked to your device ID, phone number, email or any account. | Us; it's used to keep one row per player. Other players don't see it. |
| Nickname | The name you typed in the app, up to 14 characters. | Everyone who opens the leaderboards. |
| Avatar | Which of the built-in animal pictures you picked. | Everyone who opens the leaderboards. |
| Game and score | The game and your best score, with the time it was reached. | Everyone who opens the leaderboards (score and rank). |
Please don't use your real full name or anything private as a nickname, because it is public. When the app shows a leaderboard, it sends your player ID along with the request only so the server can tell you your own rank.
4. Game pack downloads
On start, the app asks lowe-playroom.info whether newer game packs (tables, card backs, sounds, layouts) exist, and downloads them if so. These requests contain no personal information beyond what any internet request carries (see the next section).
5. Technical data and logs
Like any web server, our server receives your IP address with every request. We use it in two ways:
- Abuse protection. To limit how many scores can be sent per minute, the server stores a one-way hash of your IP address with a counter. These counters are deleted within about an hour.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, requested address, browser or app type) for security and troubleshooting. These are kept for a limited time, normally no longer than 30 days, and are not used to identify or profile players.
The app is built with the Unity engine. We have not enabled Unity's analytics or advertising services. Google Play may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as install counts and crash reports, depending on the settings you chose on your device; Google's own privacy policy applies to that.
6. This website
The site has no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address; see Google's privacy policy. The contact form doesn't send or store anything on the site: it only opens your own mail app with a prepared email. When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to answer you.
7. Why we may use this information
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases:
- running the leaderboards and delivering game packs, which are features of the app you chose to use (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
- protecting the server from abuse and keeping logs for security (our legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
- answering your emails (our legitimate interest in helping you, and your request).
8. Sharing
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. Leaderboard nicknames, avatars and scores are public by design. Otherwise, information is only handled by our hosting provider, which runs the server on our behalf, and is disclosed to authorities only when the law requires it. Our server may be located outside your country; where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. How long we keep it
- Leaderboard entries: for as long as the leaderboards exist, or until you ask us to remove them. Each board keeps only the top 500 players; entries that fall out of it are deleted automatically. Weekly boards are archived by week.
- Abuse-protection counters: about one hour.
- Server logs: normally up to 30 days.
- Emails to support: as long as needed to deal with your request, and no longer than two years.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict its use, and receive a copy of it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Because we don't know who you are, please help us find your data: email support@lowe-playroom.info with your nickname, the games you played and roughly your best scores. You can change your nickname and avatar in the app at any time (Me → Settings → Edit profile), and you can stop sending scores by playing offline. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use sensitive personal information.
11. Children
The app is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no accounts, the only information it sends is a nickname, avatar and score. If you are a parent and believe your child has entered personal information as a nickname, write to us and we will remove it.
12. Security
The app talks to our server over encrypted HTTPS connections. Score uploads are signed so that random traffic can't post to the leaderboards. Downloaded game packs are checked against a checksum before they are used. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store small on purpose.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
